7 January 2011: 10 golds, 4 silvers and 7 bronze medals for the high flying South African swimming team on the third day of the CANA Zone 3 & 4 Championships in Botswana tonight.
16 year old Sharne Dicks claimed the gold in all her races today. Beginning with the 400m freestyle, where she secured the top spot in a time of 4:41.68, followed by a first place finish in the 200m backstroke in 2:35.30, team mate Nakita Hodgson taking the bronze in 2:41.54. To end off day three of the competition, Dicks raced to a golden 1:18.73 in the 100m breaststroke with Hodgson in second with a time of 1:20.96.
It was bronze for Nina Finch in the 400m freestyle (14 & under age group), clocking 5:11.43.
