On Saturday morning after a deluge of rain Wynberg Boys Junior School's premier rugby side strode onto Western Province Preparatory School's rugby field with high expectations after having beaten the same side at U12 level by a convincing margin of 30-plus points.

Mika Ekström and Kieran Adams share 8 wickets to destroy WPPS U13A batting order

Saturday morning saw Western Province Preparatory School U13A side host Wynberg and with the match being a time game and some dark clouds covering Table Mountain, Mika Ekström made the right decision on winning the toss and sending the hosts in to bat.

'Wetpups', as Western Province Preparatory School is affectionately known, were soon in trouble with Mika demonstrating his pace and accuracy as he had opening bat Rourke Broad bowled off the first delivery he faced.

With the new playing conditions issued by Western Province Cricket in an effort to encourage batsmen to spend more time at the crease and include more spin bowling in matches, Wynberg showed their depth in both departments this morning as they hosted Western Province Preparatory School (WPPS).

Wynberg U12A rugby side win again.

In an entertaining game played in perfect conditions the Wynberg side was far superior in all aspects and should have won the game by a bigger margin were it not for the poor conversion rate and a lapse in concentration in the last minute when they allowed WPPS to score their solitary try.

Final score 22-7 to Wynberg.

Wynberg U13 rugby side struggle to find form.

Wynberg looked like they simply did not turn up for this match. Only in the last 10 minutes did they show any aggression and were awarded with a good score after taking the ball through numerous phases. WPPS were well worth their victory.
